The buyer confirmed a 5-panel construction, planned 100 hats across four designs at 25 pieces per design, requested custom sweatband or inner tape and custom hang tags, excluded custom packaging, and planned to send final vector artwork for each design so digital mockups and the quotation could be prepared.
The trial quantity was divided by design
The buyer described the first order as a 100-piece trial across four designs. The requested quotation was to show hat production cost for 25 pieces per design, making the design-level quantity part of the planning brief rather than treating the 100 pieces as one undifferentiated total.
Construction and artwork were confirmed before quotation work
The buyer confirmed a 5-panel construction based on the current mockups. Final vector artwork for each design was to be supplied so the digital mockups and quotation could be prepared from the intended designs rather than placeholders.
Trims were included while packaging was excluded
The requested scope included a custom sweatband or inner tape and custom hang tags. The same buyer explicitly stated that customized packaging, boxes and poly bags were not required. This created a clearer boundary between product customization and packaging scope.
Was the four-design split approved?
The enquiry was still at the quotation stage. The four-design split needed supplier confirmation before the buyer could proceed.
Based on a buyer enquiry, with identifying and pricing details removed. The planned quantity had not been confirmed as an accepted order.

Plan the split before choosing the total
The 25 pieces per design in this enquiry were a buyer request. They were not a confirmed minimum. Caps Mill advertises a starting MOQ of 50 pieces; the minimum for your chosen style, colour and decoration must be confirmed in the quotation. A 100-piece total does not automatically make every split workable.
- List each design and colour separately, with a quantity for each line.
- Say whether the caps share the same fabric, shape and closure.
- Separate the first physical samples from the later production quantity.
- List the labels, sweatband branding, hang tags and packing you actually need.
To judge a style before requesting a quote, compare the cream and navy distressed trucker. Its front decoration, side lettering and worn marks need separate instructions.
For timing, allow around 7 days for a simple sample and around 15 days for a more complex one, subject to confirmed materials and artwork. Sample development, bulk production and shipping are separate stages; ask for dates for your particular order.
